Privacy policy
Last updated November 5, 2026
This policy explains what Porchlight collects and why. Porchlight is run by HAN JAE HWAN, a sole proprietor doing business as Ace Trade, registered in the Republic of Korea. You can reach us at support@porchlightforpets.com.
What we collect
- What you add to a lantern: your pet's name, kind, coat color, years, photo and letter. During the beta this stays in your browser on your own device and isn't sent to us. When shared hills open, lanterns will be stored with our host and other visitors will be able to see them. We'll tell you before that happens.
- Purchase details: when you buy something, Paddle.com collects your email, country and payment details. We receive your email, country and what you bought. We never see your full card number.
- Other things your browser stores: your language choice, your hearts and your lantern settings are kept in your browser's local storage. We don't use advertising cookies or trackers.
- Basic technical data: our host, Cloudflare, processes IP addresses and request logs to deliver the site and protect it from attacks.
Why we use it
To show your lantern, to deliver what you bought, to answer you when you write to us, and to keep the site secure. We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising.
Who else handles it
- Paddle.com, our Merchant of Record, for payments, tax and receipts. See Paddle's privacy notice.
- Cloudflare, for hosting and storage.
These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States and the European Union, under their own safeguards.
How long we keep it
Your lantern stays until you remove it or ask us to. Purchase records are kept as long as tax law requires, usually five to seven years.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your lantern and everything in it. Email us and we'll reply within 30 days. If you live in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Porchlight isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
We'll post any changes here and update the date above.
